I’m a self taught artist who specialises in Water Colour paintings and Graphite drawings. I started my career after a sucessful exhibition of portraits of celebrities that was covered by local newspapers and BBC and HTV news. I have always enjoyed the use of graphite especially in black and white and trying to capture as much detail as possible, in the past 15 years i also took up coloured pencils and was noticed by Derwent who make the coloursoft range which i use, They were really impressed and commissioned me to do several drawings for them. I also put on regular exhibits of my water colours of scenes around Wales, and also take commissions for personal portaits and pets. My facebook page Portraits by Andrew Read has proved popular with over 1,700 fans. To find out more, please visit…...Read More »

Tom Morris studied Fine Art – Painting and Drawing at Swansea University, graduating in 2008 with a BA (hons).
After completing his studies he took a year out to travel, rejuvenate and enhance his visual experiences by exploringall four corners of India. On his return he has settled down to a studio practice based in Cardiff. This practice involves establishing and exploring appropriate painting and drawing techniques to express his unique vision. Mainly using either acrylic paint on canvas or watercolour and ink on paper he also incorporates collage, found objects, spray paint, pen and pencils. His subject matter can be loosely defined as portraying images that are cut off from the endless stream of consciousness one experiences. Wishing to suggest a scene or personality that is perhaps transcendental to our ordinary daily life, the artist in his work strives to invoke something that is perhaps mysterious yet familiar. My drawings are full of energy, when I’m creating them there is a lot of movement, they are performative drawings as a means of exploring mark making. These drawings are documented by film. I also have an interest in Robotics and making drawing machines to push my ability to create drawings in many various ways. My interest in actions has led to my work becoming involved with exercise, the pressure to look good and the obsession with celebrity. This has now led to me attempting to take away from the glamour of celebrities. To find out more, please visit…...Read More »
