Tom Morris
Tom Morris studied Fine Art – Painting and Drawing at Swansea University, graduating in 2008 with a BA (hons).
After completing his studies he took a year out to travel, rejuvenate and enhance his visual experiences by exploringall four corners of India. On his return he has settled down to a studio practice based in Cardiff. This practice involves establishing and exploring appropriate painting and drawing techniques to express his unique vision. Mainly using either acrylic paint on canvas or watercolour and ink on paper he also incorporates collage, found objects, spray paint, pen and pencils. His subject matter can be loosely defined as portraying images that are cut off from the endless stream of consciousness one experiences. Wishing to suggest a scene or personality that is perhaps transcendental to our ordinary daily life, the artist in his work strives to invoke something that is perhaps mysterious yet familiar.
